You do not need a new corporate card for any of this
Most approval software is a spend platform in disguise. The approval feature is the doorway; what is being sold is the card and the migration that comes with it. If your actual problem is that requests die in DMs, that is a lot of change to buy.
What BuyFlow never asks you for
- A new corporate card
- A new bank or payment rails
- Migrating your vendor list
- A procurement policy rollout
- A demo call or onboarding fee
- One more app for your team
What BuyFlow leaves out today
- Enforce a budget before someone spends.
- Route a request through four departments.
- Issue cards or hold your money.
- Work anywhere except Slack.
Need one of these now? You may need a procurement platform. If it would make BuyFlow right for you, vote below and help choose what we build next.
Questions people ask before connecting
- How is this different from Ramp or Brex?
- They are card companies. Their approval features exist to bring your spend onto their card, which is where their revenue comes from, so adopting them means moving your payment rails. BuyFlow has no card and no interest in your money movement. You keep whatever you already pay with.
- What actually gets created in my accounting system?
- An approved request syncs as a purchase order. When the requester says the company card paid, BuyFlow creates an Expense. When they paid out of pocket, it creates a Bill so you can reimburse them. The receipt is attached to the record.
- Is it safe to connect my books?
- BuyFlow connects through the official Slack, QuickBooks Online, and Xero apps, so no password is ever shared with us. Every OAuth token is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and you can disconnect either system from Settings at any time.
- Does my team have to learn a new tool?
- No. Requesters and approvers never leave Slack. The web app exists only for whoever closes the books, to review approved purchases and manage the two connections.
- What if the approver is away?
- Any approver can hit Forward and pass the request to someone else, with an optional note. The original requester is kept in the loop automatically.
- Can I see who approved what, months later?
- Yes. Every request keeps who requested it, who approved it, when, why anything was rejected, and which accounting record it became. All of it is exportable as CSV.
- What happens after 10 approved requests?
- The free plan covers 10 approved requests every month and resets at the start of each cycle. Past that, Slack shows a limit message and you can upgrade to Pro ($49/month, up to 1,000 approved requests) from Settings.
